SPARTAN POWER TRANSFORMERS

Regardless of the project size, we deliver outstanding project management to ensure customer timelines are met with precision and reliability.

Design Process

Spartan Power is your one-stop destination for transformers. We stock UL/CSA standard transformers and offer solutions for all your transformer project needs, including standard dry-type transformers and a range of oil-filled transformers. Our services cater to commercial, industrial, solar, and utility sectors across North America.

Low Voltage – Non Ventilated Transformers Dry Type Transformers

General purpose low voltage transformers are strategically located across the USA. Standard features for stocked units include:

  • DOE 2016 Efficiency Compliant

  • UL 506, UL 1561 Listed

  • Aluminum or Copper Windings

  • 60 Hz

  • Min. 60 dB Common Mode Noise Attenuation (Single shield)

  • 150°C Temperature Rise

  • Seismically Certified per ASCE/SEI 7-05

  • OSHPD OSP Pre Approval

Single Phase Pad Mount Transformers

Single-phase padmount transformers designed to bring underground 1-phase power to homes, and commercial buildings from utility feeds. These units are perfect for urban public locations due to their tamper-proof and low profile design.

We specialize in selling single-phase padmounts to non-utility customers in the commercial and industrial space.

Product Scope

  •  5 kVA - 250 kVA

  •  Up to 19.9 kV (150 kV BIL)

Three Phase Pad Mount Transformers

Three Phase Pad Mount Transformers are constructed to the highest quality standards. We design and manufacture our transformers as per ANSI, IEEE, DOE and UL Standards (as applicable).

We can also provide UL Transformers as requested. We have capabilities to produce any custom product up to 10,000 VA. We can also provide reconditioned transformers for budgetary projects.

Pole Mount Transformers

Polemounted transformers are the standard for single-phase and three-phase power distribution across much of the US. We stock many overhead type transformers for both large and small utility scale applications. We specialize in selling polemount transformers to non-utility customers in the commercial and industrial space.

K-Rated Transformers

Today's modern electronic, electric components and circuitry such as computers, copiers, printers, fax machines and display terminals utilize switching mode power supplies for their operation. These switching mode power supplies are non-linear in nature and unlike a linear load which uses current from the power source continuously over the sinusoidal cycle, a non-linear load draws current in pulses from the power source thereby creating harmonic distortion.

Non Voltage Ventilated Transformers

Non-ventilated transformers are enclosed in sealed or solid cases without ventilation openings, making them suitable for use in environments with harsh or challenging conditions, such as areas with high levels of moisture, dust, or corrosive substances. This design helps protect the internal components from environmental contaminants while reducing noise levels. They are often used in industrial, marine, or hazardous locations where durability and reliability are essential. The lack of ventilation, however, may limit their power-handling capacity compared to ventilated transformers, as heat dissipation is less efficient. Get in touch for available different models.

Harmonic Mitigating Transformer

The HMT (Harmonic Mitigating Transformer) is a three phase transformer with 0° or -30° displacement between the primary and the secondary. The HMT is used to reduce current harmonics on the primary side of a transformer and voltage distortion on the load. A single HMT reduces the flow of triplen harmonics, 3rd, 9th, 15th, 21st, etc. into the transformer primary. Used together on the same power line a 0° and -30° HMT will also reduce the 5th and 7th harmonics. These transformers are designed to reduce voltage distortion when powering non-linear loads.

Applications

  • For use in environments with non-linear loads such as computers and variable speed drives

  • Where there is high computer, printer and communication equipment usage, and stable operation is necessary

  • Medical facilities including hospitals

  • Data centers

  • Office buildings

  • Schools
