Phil has decades of technical and management experience in commercial nuclear power and applied HVAC equipment sales engineering fields. Having scientific and management responsibilities in commercial nuclear power prior to the internet gave Phil unique educational opportunities and experience in the scientific method, human performance, and organizational management. His opportunities to research and develop contributions of original work in his discipline of physics was foundational at the time.

Phil changed careers mid-life to become Executive VP of two applied equipment sales engineering agencies. Phil employed his prior experience in human performance and organizational management to help sustain and build two of the most successful, premiere organizations of their kind prior to his retirement in 2019.

Phil re-entered the industry in 2023 to help his close friends and colleagues establish Spartan Systems and Spartan Power, respectively, as applied HVAC and electrification equipment sales agencies.

Jim Targonski has spent the last 35 years immersed in the electrical distribution and control industry. He has accumulated over 15 years with Eaton Electrical (Westinghouse) and General Electric (GE) having successful district and regional sales responsibilities, product line and plant manager experience and electrical distribution channel responsibilities. Jim moved into the electrical distribution channel the next 16 years (PLATT Electric and WESCO) with customer relationships in 5 regional sales markets coast to coast as well as a VP of sales role in Chicago and most recently as SVP at Atom Power.

He has also been active in the energy transition markets the past four years developing channel (agents and distribution partners) in the hydrogen marketplace (BayoTech) and at Atom Power (EV Charging). Being able to combine all of these skillsets and electrical channel experiences has enabled Jim to bring exceptional expertise to Spartan Power to offer complete electrical power product sales from low voltage to medium voltage and DCFC (fast charging) applications.
